Bev Searle-Freeman was born and raised in the beautiful country of Zimbabwe. Art became her passion early in life and at the age of five, in kindergarten, she won her first art competition. The painting had been done on brown craft paper. It was a large loosely-painted tree with a big brown trunk and curving branches covered in layers and layers of leafy foliage in a myriad of greens & golds. One could not miss it placed amongst the other paintings of "lollipop trees" as her teacher, Mrs. Barnard, described them, and she encouraged Bev's parents to push her towards an artistic career.
Bev's natural talent and versatility have given her the opportunity to explore the many avenues and flavours in artistic expression, along with different mediums, each with their own unique qualities and characteristics to add variety to her work. Her work is constantly evolving.
Bev’s work is in private collections in Canada, the USA, England and South Africa.
